Episode 71-Hoopla!
As many of you already know, the face of Pleasure Island as we know it will be drastically changed as of September 28th because on the 27th all of the night clubs will be closing down. Perhaps the most beloved club of them all and the one that will be missed the most is The Adventurer's Club-the 1937 club for Adventurer's. So in tribute to this often overlooked treasure of Walt Disney World that has brought so many laughs and good times to so many of us, we are playing audio that was taken this past Saturday evening of the end of the night extravaganza that takes place at the club known as the Hoopla!
You'll hear all of your favorite characters such as the club president Pamelia Perkins, Adventurer of the year Emil Bleehall, and Samantha Sterling. You'll also hear resident ladies man and aviator Hathaway Brown sing a song about how to woo the ladies as well as club treasurer Otis T. Wren sing a bluesy little number about Frosty the Snowman and much more Adventurer's Club zaniness.
Whether you're someone who never got around to visiting the club or you're an avid fan who will desperately miss it, we think you'll really enjoy this week's show.
Now keep in mind we've made sure that the audio is family friendly for the most part. There are a couple of innuendos towards the end of the segment but there's no profanity and it's not really anything that we felt anyone would find offensive. But if you have young ones listening to the show and you're really concerned about it then just fast forward through the "When the Sants go Marching in" number at the end of the segment.
In the news this week...The new T-Rex restaurant at Downtown Disney is scheduled to open a little earlier than expected and the new quick service restaurant at The Contemporary has an official name. Also the acapella group
"Four for a Dollar" will no longer be performing at Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, some unfortunate news about
www.Disfriends.com, and much more.
We'll also do a Mouse Call to a very special AllAbouttheMouseketeer celebrating his birthday in Walt Disney World!
And last, but certainly not least, we'll open up the mailbag and get to some more of your listener email before we close out the show this week.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
