Mr. ten Kate
Soupkast 24 comes to you semi-fresh from the Donington World Superbike round where our man about paddock, Glenn Le Santo, interviewed Team Honda Superbike team owner Ronald ten Kate in what will be a two-part soupkast-ola. Forthright and with the clear mind of a ruthless manager, ten Kate slices through the issues of World Superbike and running a Superbike team with an honesty seen only rarely in racing. Listen closely for his thoughts on traction control ('a sub par rider with TC will beat a great rider without it') and if they cried when they lost Chris the V to Suzuki's MotoGP team ('you can't build a team around a rider'). Full disclosure: Le Santo was ten Kate's PR man back in their sleeping on the garage floor Supersport days, but hasn't worked for the team since 2003. Also, ten Kate uses the word "bullsh*t" in this podcast. We're sorry for these careless indiscretions. On second thought, we're not sorry. For anything. Enjoy, Soup-Army-type people.
