Prof Daniel Zajfman(P) (H)(Weizman Institute)
Nitza Lowenstein and Professor Daniel Zajfman President of: The Weizmann Institute of Science Born in Belgium in 1959, Daniel Zajfman moved to Israel in 1979. He received a B.Sc in 1983 and a PH.D in 1989 from the Technion, in atomic physics. 1991 he joined the staff of the Weizmann Institutes as a senior scientist. In November 2006, Prof. Zajfman was elected the tenth President of the Weizmann Institute, becoming at 47, the youngest president the Institute ever had. Professor Zajfman told our listeners his most important achievements before he was appointed to his current position and highlighted the challenges that are facing today the Weizmann Institute. Other topics were the “Big Bang” experiment, brain research as a base to develop medication for MS, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson diseases. Interview in Hebrew Broadcast on 14.9.08
