The Complete Works of Wm. Shakespeare (Abridged): "Abridge Too Far?"
We explore the Festival's next production, the hilarious "The Complete Works of Wm. Shakespeare (Abridged), the send-up that brought to world-renown its creators, The Reduced Shakespeare Company. Today we have a wide-ranging chat with acclaimed director Tony Tsendeas, who gives us his spin on approaching this wild and effervescent comedy. He speaks about comedic influences, his approach to directing such a knockabout amalgam, and his belief that even though the show gives the illusion of an evening of improv, it becomes a complete and rewarding experience for the audience. Actor and Artistic Director James Kinstle gives us a brief glimpse of the riotous Kings From Shakespeare's Plays Football Game and a taste of the play's take on Shakespeare's Comedies -- as one play. The funniest Shakespeare Play in town runs at the Festival's Elizabethan Theatre at St. Mary's, October 6-29, 2006. It is directed by Tony Tsendeas and stars James Kinstle, Ben Kingsland, and Bolton Marsh. For tickets, www.baltimoreshakespeare.org.
