A Midsummer Night's Dream-Fairy Royalty Ep.02
We continue our exploration of BSF's production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM with interviews with Mindy Woodhead and Tim Marrone who play both Hippolyta and Titania and Theseus and Oberon respectively. Both talk of their interest in double-casting, how it effects their approaches, and ultimately that, as Marrone notes, it's "much more fun being a fairy." That's especially true in Laura Hackman's high-flying production where much of the work of the fairies is performed on arial apparatus. We end with the announcement of a special event on July 23 at BSF's summertime home, the Evergreen House, where lucky patrons can view a surviving copy of the First Folio of Shakespeare, as well as other bibliographic antiquities, courtesy of the Garrett Library at Evergreen. We also plug next month's edition -- the first of two podcasts focusing on the uproarious comedy "The Complete Works of Wm Shakesper (Abridged)."
